ASHDALE (known locally as the house with the monkey-puzzle trees)
Ashdale is a fine Grade 2 listed Georgian style villa, built in the 1840s
We are situated right at the heart of Matlock Bath, opposite Jubilee Bridge that goes over the River Derwent, and conveniently located for all its attractions.
All of the four spacious guest rooms are en-suite and have all been extensively refurbished this year;
Two of our largest bedrooms on the first floor overlook the main parade and the River Derwent and Valley. One of them has en-suite facilities and the other has a seperate bathroom off the bedroom.
On on the ground floor, we have another bedroom with a King size bed plus a single bed. This is especially suitable for young families or those wanting to avoid using the stairs. This room has access to the rear court yard
To the rear of the house on the first floor overlooking a private court yard, is a double bedroom, with en-suite.
From the Ashdale there is level walking to Matlock Bath Railway Station and many attractions including: local restaurants and pubs, museums, riverside/woodland walks, Cromford Canal as well as Gullivers Kingdom and the Cable Cars to The Heights of Abraham.
Within a 15 - 20 minute drive is Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall, Bakewell, Monsal Head and some fantastic walks.
